Artist Bio
Rafe Affleck is an internationally regarded Southern California sculptor who specializes in combining the crisp rigidity of stainless steel with the shimmering reflectivity of flowing water to create a substantial and distinctive body of work. His use of water and knowledge of its properties of movement and sound are added dimensions, extending the viewing and participatory experience.
Much of his work has incorporated the " Laminer Flow process" which helps to create an unbroken cascading sheet of water as an extension of the sculpture. The water sculptures are dynamic installations even when the water feature is turned off, thus, allowing the work of art to stand on its own as sculpture.
Corporations as well as private residences worldwide have commissioned his innovative, contemporary designs. His commissioned sculptures have varied in size from three to thirty feet in height and are recognized for their contemporary lines and distinctive metal finish.
